Hot off the presses: Mayo Clinic has been ranked number 1 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report on their annual "Best Hospitals" list!

rankings

The U.S. News and World Report rankings are based on a number of metrics (including survival, patient safety, and nurse staffing, among others) which are combined to determine a hospital's overall standing. Hospitals are also ranked nationally by specialty, with Mayo Clinic's Rochester campus taking home more number 1 specialty rankings than any other hospital.

Because of our emphasis on subspecialty exposure in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, our Internal Medicine residents get hands-on experience in an incredible number of nationally top-ranked clinical areas, including:

This level of expertise across multiple medical subspecialties means that our residents not only get to work with world-renowned faculty, but they also get to diagnose and treat complex pathology in patients from across the globe who have come to Mayo Clinic specifically because of its dedication to patient-centered care, medical research, and clinical excellence.

For our residents, all of this makes for a training experience that is truly unlike any other.
