Minnesota ACP Ultrasound Course

The Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) workshop was held during Minnesota ACP 2014 in Minneapolis, MN. The course was co-directed by Dr. Bhagra of Mayo General Internal Medicine (pictured right) and assisted by Chief Residents Luke Seaburg and Chris Aakre.

We covered and practiced:

  • Knobology and ultrasound basics
  • Kidney - hydronephrosis
  • IVC, IJ, and aorta assessment
  • Lung - Consolidation, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, venous congestion
  • Heart - LV systolic function (PSAX, PLAX)
  • Lower extremity DVT assessment
