Mayo Internal Medicine Residency Has Strong Showing at DDW 2017

By Justin Fiala, M.D.

Our residents hit the Windy City over the weekend for the annual Digestive Disease Week conference where they showcased their GI-related research and networked with other trainees and experts in the field.

Dr. Oxentenko, the IM Residency Program Director, was also at the conference and showed her support for the residents presenting their work.

Dr. Oxentenko also caught up with Dr. Kimberly Harer, a Mayo IM Residency alumnus, while at DDW. Dr. Harer finished her residency at Mayo in 2013 and has been a GI fellow at Johns Hopkins since then. She will finish her fellowship this year and will be joining the GI faculty at the University of Michigan this summer. It goes to show that the Mayo connection is one that endures!

While not at the conference, a few of the residents took a trip to the North Side to take in a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
