The holiday season brings some of my favorite times at Mayo! Everywhere you walk, there are lights and garlands and wreaths making things cozy and bright with a side of warm fuzzy. I love it. St. Marys Hospital has been duded up with lights for the past 3 weeks and the Plummer Building is all decked out!
Our residency has been enjoying this time with some extra pampering and festive carb intake. We had our wellness "Holiday Party" last week which boasted dozens of decorate-your-own sugar cookies, two therapy dogs, one hot lunch...and a partridge in a pear tree. It was great!
Here are some of our emerging world-experts in pastry chef-ery and minimalist dessert artistry. (Except for Dan Reynolds. He is already a renowned master of cookie perfection.) I will be the first to admit that I'm more of a chocolate girl, but I enjoy a holiday sugar cookie from time-to-time. This was one of those times. 🙂
Gracie and Marley were our furry friends for the occasion. And while they did leave a few souvenirs behind (which were easily removed with a lint roller), we really liked having them with us! Both of them were very sweet.
We kept up our holiday cheer with the IM Holiday Party at Grand Rounds with cheese curds, nachos, tater tots, and assorted adult beverages. We also hosted a makeshift photo booth which was very popular. The chiefs are pretty photogenic...so it was a nice mash up.
We had a lot of residents attend with family and friends. Fun had by all! Our holiday spirit will spill into this week with hot chocolate rounds and our winter concert. Stay tuned.
